Global Toolbar (from left to right):

Open

Get a text/rtf/eml/html/doc/pdf file to speak. You may also copy or type into the Text Viewer directly.

Audio

Make text to audio conversion for the current text selection with current voice control settings.

Buy/Voices

For Demo it's Buy button, leads to

online purchase page. For registered version, it's Voices button, for

quick visit to free voices and commerical voices.

Help

Get to this help page for operation instruction.

About

Check the current version number and register status.

Quit

Close the program.

Voice Controls:

Play

Start to speak the text from the cursor position.

Pause

Pause / Resume speaking.

Stop

Stop speaking.

Voice

Select a speaking voice. Both SAPI 5 and SAPI 4 voices are listed together.

Format

Select WAV, MP3, WMA or OGG as your output audio format.

Quality

Select an audio quality from the dropdown list.

Volume

Drag the slider down to increase the volume; up to decrease.

Speed

Drag the slider down to quicken the speaking; up to slow.

Pitch

Drag the slider down to higher the pitch; up to lower.

Reset

Reset all settings of Voice, Format, Quality, Volume, Speed and Pitch to Default.

Text/Email/Web Switch :

Plain Tab

Click this Tab to load a text/rtf file or input text directly into the Text Editor. To speak, select any part of text or just place the cursor where you want to start. Then click Speak.

Email Tab

Click this Tab to load EML files saved from your Outlook Express. To speak, highlight the text you want to speak. Then click Speak.

Note: this feature requires that Internet Explorer is installed.

Web Tab

Click this Tab to read the Internet by entering URL (with http://) and pressing Enter or click Open to load a html file. To speak, highlight the text you want to speak. Then click Speak.

Note: this feature requires that Internet Explorer is installed.

You may also read Word or PDF files by clicking Open to load a doc or pdf file in this tab. To speak, highlight the text you want to speak and press CTRL+C (important step) . Then click Speak.

Note: this feature requires that Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed.

Audio Info feature enables you to add some

notes about this conversion, such as Title, Year, Author. This info tag

can be read by your media application like Winamp.

1. Tags for Enhancement

To insert silence, add tag like this: <SILENCE MSEC=""/> (here "" is the silence duration in mili-seconds which you can change).

To pronounce a word letter by letter, wrap the word with the following tags: <SPELL>word</SPELL>

To pronounce a word with emphasis, wrap the word with the following tags: <EMPH>word</EMPH>

2. Custom Pronunciation

To define custom pronunciation for a specific word, please insert xml tags into text like this:

Note: spaces before and after "&" are required.
